Designing A Happy Lifestyle

HAPPY EASTER
Easter is one of my favorite Holidays that I have always loved. It is one of the holidays that holds so many special memories. Easter to me represents the beginning of Spring and a new beginning. Colorful flowers start to bloom, the green grass starts to sprout, the air is fresh and clean, and everyone starts to wear pastel colors. Although this year will be much different than past Easters, I wanted to share my Easter design with you! These times are stressful and unknown, so I hope this Easter room makes you feel; happy, positive, and removes you from reality, if even just for a moment! Please stay healthy, safe, and well. The best thing to look forward to right now, is knowing that Summer is right around the corner.Tracey Rapisardi, Tracey Rapisardi Design, Easter Table Scapes, Easter Decor, Easter Decorating, Mint Green Table, Simply by the Sea, Summer and Company, Interior Design Ideas, Easter IdeasSetting up the hutch for Easter, with playful dishes and custom wooden Easter Bunnies. I painted the inside of this vintage hutch a beautiful pale mint green which lends to the perfect backdrop for a collection of new and old dishes. I had handmade pottery custom made in my colors with a mix of polka dots and stripes. Mint green and white striped pottery blend beautifully with white and cream French pitchers and platters. The little custom wood Easter Bunnies pose perfectly on the shelves. Hippity Hoppity…

Tracey Rapisardi, Tracey Rapisardi Design, Easter Table Scapes, Easter Decor, Easter Decorating, Mint Green Table, Simply by the Sea, Summer and Company, Interior Design Ideas, Easter IdeasEaster wouldn’t be Easter without beautiful little sweet treats. I made little meringue kisses, covered in sweet white sugar. I then layered them on a simple cottage style cake plate, lined with pretty bakers paper, which sits on a second cake plate full of delicate white on white petit fours, layered with white buttercream. White sugar cookies covered with fairy sugar and mint green fairy dots, are irresistible on a vintage Milk Glass lattice plate.

Tracey Rapisardi, Tracey Rapisardi Design, Easter Table Scapes, Easter Decor, Easter Decorating, Mint Green Table, Simply by the Sea, Summer and Company, Interior Design Ideas, Easter IdeasLooking through the white Apple Bloom Flowers, towards the mint green and white hutch full of beautiful dishes is so satisfying to me. Vintage criss cross glass doors sit wide open, inviting your eye in. I absolutely love love to layer for interest – so I extended the design outside the glass by adding hanging dishes on the wall.

I added the fresh blooms to my English vintage enamel pitcher. I love to mix and match fabrics, textures, and even flowers. Turquoise and white Polka Dot Dinner napkins are mixed with Striped Dinner Napkins in the same hues. Always have fun with whatever you do in your home.

Tracey Rapisardi, Tracey Rapisardi Design, Easter Table Scapes, Easter Decor, Easter Decorating, Mint Green Table, Simply by the Sea, Summer and Company, Interior Design Ideas, Easter IdeasThis custom mint green linen table cloth is the perfect base layer to add white dishes, candy jars, and cake stands atop. Adding a touch of black and white to the table and hutch, as well as a touch of vintage, adds depth to the look. Little baby dishes with scolloped edges full of Easter Jelly Beans, is a sweet personal touch for each guest.

Custom slipcovered cushions blend seamlessly on the white wicker dining chairs, topped with pretty throw blankets.

I hope by pulling this entire Easter room together, brings a little happiness to you, and to whoever you are able to share it with. The Easter Bunny will hop up the path with goodies in his basket for all! Happy Easter, from my family to yours! xo

SIMPLY BY THE SEA,  BY TRACEY RAPISARDIBLOG

Some of you may have been wondering, where has Tracey been? and why have we not seen her work or heard from her lately?… Well finally, I can answer that question with so much excitement… I have been working on my first book, “Simply by the Sea”.

Back in September, 2016, I was approached by a publisher, 83 Press, about doing a book of my work. After 2 + years of  designing, creating, styling, and yes – even photographing the book, it is DONE! I wanted to bring a lifestyle to my readers of “Simply by the Sea” that covers all the charms of living by the sea. Whether it’s designing your house, hosting a seaside gathering, or just being the all around beach bum. In this book, you will find all different design styles. Whether its cottage, classic, modern, vintage, farmhouse, beach, country, or if it’s located in a cove, on the beach, in a harbor, on an island, up the street or miles away.

Having strong family ties to the ocean and raising my children by the sea, I share my designs for a lifestyle that simply goes with the seaside mindset. You will see the many details of a coastal home and way of life by the sea, and experience the feeling of… ”I don’t want this to end”, which we all know and love.

I long to work and design a home that my clients dream of with a life style that will last in their hearts. So as the years have gone by,  I have chosen 7 homes that I created, photographed and styled with my daughter Mandi’s help. (We have worked so very hard to bring you the feeling and lifestyle of “Simply by the Sea”)

Everyone wants a seaside lifestyle to last more than a summer… So relax and be inspired by my first book “Simply by the Sea”. Pre order has started and it will be released on April 1st 2019. Purchase links below. And follow along on our journey at

Simply by the Sea Home

DESIGNER SWEETS FOR CHRISTMAS

A beautiful kitchen cupboard full of mugs and dishes for your hot cocoa and butter cookies.

TRACEY_RAPISARDI_XMAS_BLOG_2017_6 copy

Baking for Christmas is one of the best parts of the holiday. Mandi and I, working on new cookie designs. The sweet smell of butter filled the cottage kitchen with an oh so cozy aroma… There is nothing like butter cookies right out of the oven.

Sweet buttery treats that melt in your mouth. We made royal icing and tinted it all different shades of turquoise with soft whites. Silver candy stars top the Christmas trees, adorned with light pink, mint green, and turquoise French Dragees (Sugar Pearls).

Laying out all the cookies for everyone to enjoy as if it were an page from a childrens book. Cottages all lined up in a row with christmas trees, as reindeer fly overhead. Sugar snow flakes fall to make snowmen, and the half moon sleeps as the night falls near.

End the day with homemade cocoa topped with hand cut pink marshmallows. Sweet sugar cookie cottages and sweet hearts, made to sit on the rim of the mugs, melt in your mouth as you enjoy your cozy treat.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday and Happy New Year! Stay Warm… xoxo

COASTAL LIVING MAGAZINE MOST POPULAR BEACH COTTAGE ON INSTAGRAM.

COASTAL_LIVING_XMAS_1

Coastal Living Magazine hired Mandi and I to style out this beach cottage for the Holidays. We worked like little elves making pillows, decorations and soft bedding to snuggle up in and stay warm. We handmade most of the decorations, filled our sleigh (Land Rover at the time) and brought in wicker chairs, white coffee table, dishes, wreathes, Christmas trees, garlands, cozy bedding, and much more. Summer and Company made pillows, bedding and stockings for the dreamy fireplace mantle and also to hang at the end of the warm and cozy beds. Summer and Company is my “go-to” for bedding and custom pillows etc (owned by my daughter Mandi) Christmas music chimed in the background while we wrapped prop presents and made decorative cookies for the shoot. We then headed outside in the cold to decorate the exterior with simple evergreens from Maine tied up with white bows.  We filled the window boxes with fresh boughs adorned with little red berries. As soon as we finished it began to snow , which was great for the photograph!! To this day, it is still Coastal Living Magazines most popular beach cottage on Instagram at #1. A COZY WHITE CHRISTMAS

Getting ready for a cozy white Christmas in Sarasota Florida. Mandi’s Cottage is like being in a dreamy White Christmas. Baking fluffy mini Christmas cakes and drinking hot cocoas as we wrap gifts and children write to Santa. Oooooh what fun it is getting ready for the Holiday’s. Fluffy Christmas cakes on a cloud of white, topped with snow flakes and silver glitter sprinkles. Enjoying Christmas candy and all kinds of goodies.

Next to the wintery white Christmas Tree are gifts being wrapped with creative thoughts. Then it’s time to sit and get cozy with a blanket and cup of spicy hot cider.  A wonderful way to spend an evening during the Holiday Season. I will be spending my Christmas at Mandi’s Christmas Cottage with family and friends!!

I wish you all a Happy Merry Christmas.

BEACH HOUSE STYLE

Here is another project of mine just featured in the Coastal Living’s Beach House Style book. Enjoy some more 3rd floor nooks and crannies of the featured 2008 Coastal Living Idea House!

1

Whether your on the West Coast, East Coast or the Gulf of Mexico in Sarasota, FL – a beach house is always a place to make memories.

A beach house third floor has always been a kids place for the summer to play with brothers, sisters, cousins, friends and beach buddies you just met. I designed the plans for this beach house keeping in mind how important it was to have this 3rd floor! Piling into the beach club of the third floor – oh what memories I have as a kid.

2

A Bigger bed for the older kids is perfectly positioned with sailboat shelves and an additional cot for sleep overs. How charming are the Sweet Summer Linens?

3

Always make nooks and crannies. This is the perfect nook to put the old fashioned cot. What child wouldn’t LOVE this?

4

Colorful fan and beach towels!!

5

Puff puff’s for everyone!!!

6

A place to hang your bathing suit, towels, and summer clothing… IT’S THE BEACH!!

7

Calling all beach babies!! I said this to my little beach babies as they grew up on the beach. Calling all beach babies to the Sweet Summer Linens magical tent – which my daughter Mandi designed and created. Story time… and then maybe nap time for the kids… Then cocktail time for the parents ; )

8

A twin bed in a nook with boat windows above to hear the surf and smell the salt air! All the bedding was custom made by Sweet Summer Linens.
